Finally Margaret chose Kari and Ria went to join Trish in February. Kari is a very lively dog and loves to bounce around the furniture at home. She has a good body, coat, eye and a lovely temperament, but though she has done well in the show ring so far she really needs to get her brain in gear and concentrate on what she should be doing.
She has won several puppy classes but except for earlier in the year she has not beaten sister Ria, we hope that like super-granny, Katy, she will settle down as she gets older and challenge for top honours - patience is required- and hope! She had her best result at the SPC show in Nov 2007 when she performed very well on a very slippery floor.
During 2008, she did well at Crufts being placed 4th in class but never achieved the flency of movement that we had seen in her younger day. After the May 2008 shows we decided to rest her and to show her again in the Autumn, she was cut into Continental clip in Sept and shown again at Midland Counties show being placed 3rd in class. Still a little too dashing to be really successful!
Finally we decided that maybe she wouldn't do as well in the ring as we expected and near the end of the year we retired her from the ring and she become a full time pet. She has a lovely black coat and a still exhubriant temperament. In March 2009 she was bred to Rio, Karen Patterson's young dog, we await results in a few weeks!
