…Val suggested that we should think about showing him. No chance we said, we only want a pet.
Then our local dog trainer said it was a pity he wasn't being shown. I thought I would give it a try and grew his coat. After six months or so, we again met Valerie at a poodle show near London, I was very impressed with the dogs and after more persuasion from her thought we should try the open shows in our home area.
He proved to be a rather tall and elegant but laid-back show dog, he won several classes and gave us great pleasure. He then went on to win at Obedience and Agility but my love of Conformation, as our American friends call it, was born, and Tessa took over his spot.
