As a young pup she was the one folk wished to take home, small and fine, a fiery show puppy with a super head. She soon gained her Junior Warrant title (new system). Handled by Sheila Hadley (Kossab) she won her first CC at Leeds Champioship show judged by Kim Sillitoe in 1998, her second CC handled by Margaret at Midland Counties in Oct 1998 judged by Mrs Thorn Andrews, (when sister Katy got the RCC). She gained her 3rd CC and title at The Standard Poodle Club in Oct 1998 handled by Kim Sillitoe, judged by Mrs G Holbourn. She gained her 4th CC at Crufts in 1999 handled by Sheila and judged by Mr D Kitchener and her fifth and last CC under Mrs Judith Catlow at BlacKpool in June 1999.
We travelled to the US, to Florida, in Jan 2000, taking both Ali and her sister Katy. I showed her a few times, then Gina Weiser took her over and handled her to her US Championship in June 2000, highlighting at PCA in June 2. It was a fascinating and thrilling time.
She retired after finishing and we then waited and waited for her to come into season. She was mated to De Beers in Jan 2001, her litter of pups being born in March at Ralph & Sue Holmes (Suralium) quarantine kennels in England. That litter produced 3 champions, Tiffany & Buffy in UK and Pearl in US. And Yannie, Serekunda Black Diamond now owned by Miss D Grace (Sasilasy), who won Best Puppy Dog at the Standard Poodle Club show in 2001 under Sheila Hadley who has proven himself a good stud dog.
Her second litter by Phoenix, Ch Cockney Rebel produced Beau who has one CC and one RCC, he has now retired. Her third litter by Rico produced two black dogs and one black bitch, Chang and Toni are being shown and their owners are hoping for success in 2006. The other pup went to a pet home in Northern Ireland. Chang really got into his stride in late 2007 gaining his first CC, he became a champion in 2008 at SWPC show.
Her life was cut short, she died from peritonitis in June 2006. A sad loss to us and she is so badly missed, but gives us many joyful memories and has left three fabulous show daugthers, Tiffany with Roger Bayliss, Buffy with Karen Patterson and Pearl in the US with Kim & Rick Bates.
