In 1970 our family moved from London to the Lancaster & Morecambe coastal area of North West England. It is a delightful area tucked into the south eastern corner of Morecambe Bay, close to the English Lake District to the north and the Pennine hills to the east.
At that time Lancaster was an old industrial town, famous for its ancient castle, and Morecambe a rather tired seaside resort. Today Lancaster is a thriving University town and Morecambe is gradually revitalising itself. The views looking over the vast sands of the tidal Bay, with the backdrop of the Lakes Mountains, are gorgeous.
